Try to blend the ad with your website... that way there will be more possiblity for your visitors to click on the banners you will place.
Try to search for optimization tools on the Internet, there is a lot of info about this.
After you place the ads on your website, you can start checking your earning in the ads company website.
Try to place your ads in front on the eyes, your visitor need to see your ad as soon they enter your website, ad should be first thing they see on your website, this way is more possinility to click on them.
You cannot tell your friends or family members to click on your ads, if your ads company will see any fraud on your website, they will cancel your membershipp block your account, and that will be end of your career with this company.
